1. Microeconomics and macroeconomics what's the difference? 2. If I knew enough microeconomic behaviours from watching individuals buy and sell. Like the information that Amazon has on people from being the largest general reseller in the world. Could you affect, impact or manipulate international macroeconomics? 3. What’s the three things an object should have to be good as money? 4. Time is another human concept, it is limited and stable. We all have a limited amount to spend and most of us sell it in one way or another. Why or why not use time as a source of money?
5. How much are you worth? When should you not use money? 6. Is economics ever correct in its predictions? 7. Does economics have other functions in society such as influencing politicians or voters? 8. What causes hyperinflation politics or a change in supply?
9 Current predictions and trends in the economy from Neil Mc-Coy Ward an economist:

There are differences in the British and American spelling of metre. Metre is the UK way, meter is the American. This is also shown in their accents. S and Z are also often swapped. Both are correct in normal writing, but in strict writing like exams or for spell checks it's important to use the one your audience expects.
A fictitious word introduced in Mary Poppins. Thought to be a nonsense word, but it contains elements of real Greek and Latin roots:
super: above, over, extreme cali: beauty fragilistic: delicate expiali: to atone, to make amends docious: educable, able to learn
Put together, \\\"supercalifragilisticexpialidocious\\\" translates roughly to \\\"atoning for educability through delicate beauty\\\" or \\\"atoning for extreme and delicate beauty while remaining highly educable\\\"
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is a nonsense word made up for a song and used in the film Mary Poppins, but outside of this movie no one would really use it. Mary Poppins is classic book and a fun movie most British people know. With her umbrella and sunny smile, sweet voice and games Mary Poppins is an ideal child carer or also called nanny.

Both sentences can be understood to mean a similar thing. The first uses information (n) to be a property of the video and the second (adj) describes to amount of information in the video.

The test lasts only 15 minutes, and is perfect for getting a quick idea of your English level. It is based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), so is understood globally; last year 2.3 million people took the test, from all around the world. The results showed that Poland is the only Slavic-language country to have an average mark of B2 or higher for English proficiency - in fact, Poles speak English to the same level as Germans and Swedes. Russia and the Ukraine scored much lower, with an average of beginner level.

Economics is a social science that studies the movement and creation of resources, wealth and money. Economist use a large corpus (or body) of theories to describe the behaviour of peoples interactions with resources.
Since the birth of tax thousands of years ago, you can bet someone wanted to count it. How much tax you can charge and get to invest can change. When problems such as a local flood cause a small scale or micro economic problem, when trying to collect treasure. Microeconmics would even study how an indivdual spends their resources, including money, time and just about everything.
A war with a neighboring country can cause big taxation problem. It normally means more funds are needed for the military and people are normally less willingness to spend, so less taxes coming in. This in economic terms is a macroeconomic problem.
scarcity- how much of a resource is there.
supply and demand- how accessible is the resource
costs and benefits- what is being exchanged.

There is the golden point between governments having too much money and not enough. If there is too much the price of goods go up to quickly this is inflation. To little spending and you get the opposite deflation the value of goods going down. With sales from traders in the hope of encouraging spending. The costs for producers are the same the milk comes from the same cow. In both cases its one the monetary value that has changed. In 2020 the UK has near zero interest rates. For savers holding cash in a saving account makes no financial sense. The amount that things go up (the inflation rate) is less then the amount you get from saving. This means savers with a lot of money to save, choose instead to invest or buy large things like house and extensions. They do this by getting low cost mortgages from banks that are based on the inflation rate. Once in debt it is possible to use that debt to get even more debt. Often people are getting a second or third mortgage. Each house can earn an income in rent which can be changed at will. The hope is that this rental income will yield a greater Return On Investment (RTI) than a savings account. This debt leveraging is pushing up house prices beyond normal wages and making home ownership a dream for the young. Not great news for 2020 generation, but Hungary has the worlds record for worst inflation. In the 1940's they printed a quintrillion pengő note, that's a 1 with 21 zeros after it. Zimbabwe are also famous for inflation click the one trillion for more information.
How an object can become money is truly only a human trait. No other animals have currency. The way in which objects are chosen is that they must have these 3 qualities:
It must act as a medium of exchange i.e you can swap it for other things. It must be able to keep value – its worth the same thing tomorrow as it is today. It is an unit of account- it can be recorded.
All of the pictured objects have these abilities and have all are or have been currencies. There's even a very nice story (not from 'the Bible') about the Brazilian Real (BRL) and how it was created from a ghost currency. Follow the link and listen. There is a transcript on the website NPR

The name is Council Directive 2006/112/EC, on the proposal of a common VAT. This is a direct quote: “The attainment of the objective of establishing an internal market presupposes the application in Member States of legislation on turnover taxes that does not distort conditions of competition or hinder the free movement of goods and services. It is therefore necessary to achieve such harmonisation of legislation on turnover taxes by means of a system of value added tax (VAT), such as will eliminate, as far as possible, factors which may distort conditions of competition, whether at national or Community level.”
Census of Quirinius was a population and tax census (count) after the Romans added a new leader to Quirinius a part of Syria many years ago. A book called 'The Bible' has as story about two characters Mary and Joseph they had to Bethlehem and be part of this census and Mary gave birth to a baby while there.
The Domesday book of 1086, is the nickname given to a census in the UK after it was conquered by the French. The book was the first record of all the land, buildings and resources in the kingdom. If you couldn't prove ownership rights to an asset the government took it. If you could they tax you on it, forever. This was much like another story from 'The Bible', this one is about the end of the world. It was thought of as being the end of all that was good in the country hence the nickname Domesday book.
According to rules for rulers why were these conquerors carrying out the surveys and census?

TheyWorkForYou also has a lot of information on Rishi, for instance his voting record while a Member of Parliament.
Every time an MP votes in parliament, it is recorded. Information like this becomes part of the historic records, and is available for the general public to view. This allows people to see how every MP and Lord in the UK has voted over time. MPs don't have to vote on every issue, and often when an MP doesn't vote on a certain issue, it is because it's not important to them. The issues in question could also be important for the party they represent.
If an MP votes many times on the same issue it is considered 'consistently voting'. Twice is considered consistent by TheyWorkForYou. Rishi has voted many times on many issues in his years as an MP. Click the TheyWorkForYou icon to find more details.
Here are some highlights from his voting record:
• Consistently voted for higher taxes on alcoholic drinks • Consistently voted against higher taxes on banks • Almost always voted against transferring more powers to the Scottish Parliament and Wales • Generally voted against more EU integration • Generally voted against a right to remain for EU nationals already living in the UK • Consistently voted for use of UK military forces in combat operations • Consistently voted for a reduction in spending on welfare benefits • Consistently voted for more restrictive regulation of trade union activity
How does his voting record align with his personal profile? Do they cover similar issues and shared views?
Have a closer look at the TheyWorkForYou website. You can check on any MP or Lord, or search by issue.
Does your country have a similar site to TheyWorkForYou?
You can contact MPs through TheyWorkForYou, or in many other ways. How would you contact your local or national equivalent to an MP?

Sing with or type along to songs, sitcoms and speeches. Lyrics Training is great fun, and offers a huge range of music - from pop to rock, to golden oldies and much more. Karaoke isn't the only feature offered; the site also provides sitcom and film clips, and lets you read along and play different roles.
There are several pieces of personal information about him, including that Rishi is teetotal (doesn’t drink alcohol), that he has worked for Goldman Sachs (a global investment company) and that he is married to a billionairess. Is it right to include this level of detail about an MP? If so, why? And if not, why?

British words have compound nouns too. Especially in sciences like chemistry and biology. Everyday words that are compounded words can show you the meaning of the word eg:
Kilometer (km) is 1000 meters, breaking it down using its historic meaning it is two words. Kilo meaning to times by 1000 and meter is the unit of measurement.
In this case you could say “I would like a kilo of flour, please.” Or “I would like to make a loaf of bread 1 metre long” Both kilo and metre can be used on their own as nouns. This is not true with all words especially words with a suffix and prefix.

Value Added Tax (VAT) is a tax charged on all items or services you buy. The most common rate in the UK is 20%. Other items have a zero rating (which will soon be stopped), some have a 5% rate, and some are exempt altogether. There is a minimum charge on all other goods, which is 15% on VAT for all EU members.
According to the BBC, VAT was the third biggest income generator for the UK government in 2018/19, after income tax and national insurance contributions, earning them £136,600,000,000. It’s an EU tax that was introduced in 1973. Looking back at Rishi's voting record, why do you think he chose for VAT to be cut?
From 15th July 2020, Rishi cut the cost of VAT on fast food and restaurants from 20% to just 5%, as a response to the COVID lockdown. McDonalds and KFC cut their prices by 30p to 50p. Interestingly, alcoholic drinks where excluded from this cut, but pub chain Wetherspoons took the opportunity to reduce its price on food as well as some alcoholic drinks.
Richmond (Yorkshire), not to be confused with Richmond upon Thames, voted 63,6% Conservative, so can be considered a 'safe seat'. Safe, in this case, means that the the opposition would require a lot of votes to get in. There are 137 restaurants on Trip Advisor in the Richmond, Yorkshire area.
How do you think Rishi came up with the idea of cutting VAT, and not anything else, and what might have influenced his method of implementation?
Ask yourself out loud, “is lowering the price of junk food the best way to deal with a health crisis?”.
Why help people buy in restaurants, and not to buy medical products or other goods?
What are the VAT rates in your country? What does the tax fund?
